Sedona Marathon Weekend

Carolyn and I decided that we would run in the Sedona Marathon events on Saturday February 4th, 2012. Carolyn ran the half marathon and me the 10k. 28 degrees to start a race in a beautiful setting. It was an awesome setting. Cold start and sunny finish. Uphill and downhill, only to go back uphill, and downhill. Since I referee basketball, I don’t get to train very much during the winter months. I will say that I was apprehensive about the run but felt great. Good night of sleep and off I go. At the turn around I had just run 400 meters down a hill only to have to try to get back up it. I was struggling but managed to do it and ran a 53:07 which was good enough for 4th place in my age division out of 19 and 39th overall out of over 400. I was proud of my accomplishment and ready to run Ragnar in three weeks.

Carolyn finished 3rd in her age group and had a great time on a difficult course. We were tired, sore, but boy we sure enjoyed the moment.
